The Shepherd's Center of Raytown is a private, non-profit, interfaith, non-discriminatory organization whose purpose is to utilize the gifts of individuals in our community to promote continued personal and spiritual growth and help maintain the dignity and independence of all persons, focusing on adults 55 and older.
The Shepherd's Center of Raytown provides services for those older adults, 55 and older who live within the Raytown School District. These services include: Meals On Wheels, Wheels That Care, Handyman Repair, Respite Care and Telephone Reassurance. Our programs are open to anyone and they include: Adventures In Learning, Exercise Class, Breaktime, Tai Chi Chih, Bridge & Card Group, and Stroke Support Group .
Menu includes: Choice of tilapia with mango salsa or pineapple glazed ham. Please specify when making your reservation.

Coming up at the Shepherd's Center
Our Lets Eat Out group (L.E.O.) which meets monthly at different restaurants for lunch with other seniors will be meeting September 15th at 11:30 am at Red Lobster (on Noland Rd). This group is also collecting Best Choice labels as a fund raiser for the Shepherd's Center of Raytown.

The Shepherd's Center of Raytown's annual Used Book Sale will be held on October 3rd and 4th at the Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church at 6429 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown. Drop off boxes for your donated books will be placed in area churches and at the SCR office.
Don't forget the Raytown Roundup Parade is also on October 4th. Watch the parade then come visit the book sale just down the street.
Mark your calendar! Red Cross Flu Shots will be $25 (unless you bring qualifying insurance) at the October and November Adventures in Learning session.
Break-time, a day of fun and socializaiton meets each Monday from 9:30 to 2:00 at the Blue Ridge Blvd. United Methodist Church. Care recipients enjoy a day filled with games, music exercise and a nutritional hot lunch. Caregivers are free to spend the day as they please, free of responsibility. We are desperately in need of Volunteers--to deliver a hot noon meal (Meals on Wheels), take someone to a medical appointment (Wheels that Care), or work in the Shepherd's Center Office. Please call 816-356-9000 to learn about all the fun you can have while helping others.
